About Rasgulla :

Rasgulla is a juicy dessert, made with milk and sugar syrup. This is a Bengali recipe that is similar to the Gulab Jamun, chum chum, and Ras malai.

This recipe looks hard to make but with little tips, you can easily make this at home.

The dish originated in East India consisting of the indian states of odisha , west bengal ,bihar etc. Rasgulla is not a healthy sweet and best eaten as a cheat meal. One Rasgulla is only 106 calories.

The Ingredients List :

  • 1 liter whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water

Method For Rasgulla :

  1. Heat milk in a pan.
  2. Once the milk comes to a boil , lower heat the milk and add the lemon mixture gradually , till milk curdles.
  3. Drain off water and leave the paneer in a colander for at least 4 hours.
  4. Mash the paneer with hands for 10 - 15 minutes to make it soft and smooth.
  5. Make small balls from the mixture after the mashing is done.
  6. To make the sugar syrup , take a pan mix the sugar and water and let it boil at high temperature.
  7. put the rasgulla balls in the boiling sugar syrup.
  8. Cook the rasgullas in  sugar syrup for 18-20 minutes on high flame.
  9. Refrigerate the rasgullas with the syrup and serve chilled.
